Tie dye Leheriya scarf in Crepe Georgette with Tassels – Coral

Dyed /Plain, Tie Dye

georgette, Mix

200 x 100 cm

The design on this scarf is called Leheriya ( wave in Rajasthani language) , a traditional style of tie dye from Rajasthan, India for creating brightly colored complex wave patterns on fabric. Dyeing is done on thin fabric, which is rolled diagonally from one corner to the opposite. This roll of fabric is then tied with threads at the required intervals and dyed. Wave patterns result from the folds made before dyeing. The fabric used in this is Georgette, a type of crepe fabric which is sheer and lightweight. The narrow edges are finished with contrasting tassels.
